Conference:
Who is this conference designed for?
We understand that in smaller schools, literacy leads may be senior leaders, but the conference is predominantly aimed at middle leaders with a responsibility for literacy across a setting.
Will sessions be available in Welsh and English?
The morning session will be a mix of English and Welsh. Simultaneous translation from Welsh to English will be available. All breakout sessions are offered in English or Welsh and delegates are able to choose their language of choice during the registration process.
Will presentation materials be shared after the event?
Following the conference, please check this website as the Resource page will be updated with presentations, supporting materials, guidance, and other conference related resources.
Will the conference be recorded?
Parts of the conference will be recorded for the purpose of sharing clips on the Estyn and/or Dysgu website and social media platforms.
Will there be an opportunity to attend the conference in another location?
This is a one-off conference for schools and PRUs across Wales.
Will there be opportunities to network?
Networking opportunities are available during break and lunch.
Registration:
How many people can attend from my setting?
Schools and PRUs are asked to register no more than two representatives from each setting. Ideally these would be middle leaders with a responsibility for literacy across a setting or literacy leads.
Do I need to choose my workshops in advance?
Workshops must be chosen when registering. To manage demand, we request that you provide your first and second choice for sessions 1 and 2 on the registration form. You will be allocated a space based on availability.
What if I need to cancel my place?
If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know with as much notice as possible so we can offer someone else your place. Please email: EstynDysguConference@Cazbah.Wales
Can I transfer my place to someone else within my setting?
Please email estyndysguconference@cazbah.wales with the details of the person replacing you. Please also advise of their preferred language and any dietary or access requirements together with a contact email address.

How do I get to Cardiff City Stadium?
Directions by road:
Driving from East:
Leave the M4 at junction 33. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A4232 signposted to Penarth. After approx. 6 miles branch left and leave the A4232, following the sign to Cardiff City Stadium. At the roundabout take the first exit onto Leckwith Road (B4267 signposted to City Centre). Cardiff City Stadium is on the right.
Driving from the West:

Directions by bus:
There is a regular bus service to Cardiff City Stadium from Cardiff Central Bus Station. Bus numbers 1, 8, 95, X91, X1 and 95B stop nearby, the most direct numbers are 1, 2, 4, 95A, 95B and 95C. Please contact Cardiff Bus for further information.
Directions by train:
Cardiff City Stadium is just a 2-mile taxi ride from Cardiff Central railway station. There are regular trains to London Paddington, Reading, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth, Southampton, Weymouth and West Wales, with easy connections to most areas of the UK. Is there parking at the venue?
There is plenty of free parking at the venue.
Is the venue accessible?
The venue is fully accessible. Please note any accessibility requirements on your registration form so that we can ensure we cater for you appropriately and ensure an enjoyable experience.
