Estyn and Dysgu are organising a one day conference in February 2027 for middle leaders in schools and settings across Wales. The conference is aimed to support education professionals interested in raising reading standards and driving improvements at a whole school level.

The conference will be open to the maintained schools and PRUs (Primary, Secondary, All-age, Special and PRUs).

The purpose of this message is to make all headteachers and teachers in charge aware of this forthcoming opportunity and to collate accurate contact details ahead of the invite being distributed by Estyn/Dysgu in the autumn term of this year. 

We will share the invite with headteachers/ teachers in charge and ask each setting to nominate two appropriate contacts to register. We understand that in smaller schools, this may be a senior leader but the conference is predominantly aimed at middle leaders with a responsibility for literacy across a setting.
